Today's Challenge

  1. 1.Which shape did you find the most of?
  2. 2.Where did you find a triangle?
  3. 3.What shape is your favorite?

Quick Start: What you need

  • 1Nothing at all. Just go outside and look.

The Goal

Spot everyday shapes hiding in windows, signs, and sidewalks.

How to start

  1. 1

No supplies needed. You can start from wherever you are.

  2. 2

Head outside and see how many you can find: a circle, a square, a triangle, a rectangle.

  3. 3

Talk about what you are seeing. Start with "Which shape did you find the most of?"

  4. 4

Print the worksheet to check things off as you find them, and keep it afterwards.

Draw What You Found

Draw one shape you found below and color it in.

A stop sign has eight sides. That shape is called an octagon.

If you want to push it further

  • Find a shape inside a shape
  • Spot the same shape three times in a row

Print it and go

The worksheet has the checklist, the prompts, and a space to draw in. One page, ready for a bag or a glovebox.
