The Goal
The classic American road trip game: how many of the 50 state plates can your family spot?
How to start
- 1
Gather what you need: pencil. Nothing else required.
- 2
Head indoors and see how many you can find: Alabama, Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas.
- 3
Talk about what you are seeing. Start with "Which state took longest to spot?"
- 4
Print the worksheet to check things off as you find them, and keep it afterwards.
Mark The Furthest
Write down each state you spot, then put a star next to the one that came from furthest away.
Every US state designs its own license plate, which is why the colors and pictures change state to state.
If you want to push it further
- Spot a state plate from more than 500 miles from home
- Find a state plate with a special design instead of the standard one
Print it and go
The worksheet has the checklist, the prompts, and a space to draw in. One page, ready for a bag or a glovebox.
