  • something with a trailer
  • something painted red

Today's Challenge

  1. 1.Was that one big or little?
  2. 2.What color was it?
  3. 3.Did it have lots of wheels or a few?

Quick Start: What you need

  • 1Nothing at all. Just go outside and look.

The Goal

A sorting game for the car seat crowd. No counting, just big or little.

How to start

  1. 1

No supplies needed. You can start from wherever you are.

  2. 2

Head indoors and see how many you can find: a big truck, a little car, a bus, a digger.

  3. 3

Talk about what you are seeing. Start with "Was that one big or little?"

  4. 4

Print the worksheet to check things off as you find them, and keep it afterwards.

Big Or Little

Every time a truck goes by, say big or little together. Draw the biggest one you saw in the space below.

A semi truck usually rolls on eighteen wheels, which is exactly where the name eighteen-wheeler comes from.

If you want to push it further

  • Say big or little together every time one goes past
  • Let them shout when they see the biggest one yet

Print it and go

The worksheet has the checklist, the prompts, and a space to draw in. One page, ready for a bag or a glovebox.
